On 5 Nov 2007 representatives from Cotton Patch Sams, Sand Mountain Sams, Shoals Sams, Wheeler Basin Sams, and Pat Smith, State Secretary of Alabama Good Sams met with Denise Patterson of PICU of the Women and Children's Hospital of Huntsville. We presented her with 185 blankets/quilts for use as needed within the PICU.. The blankets were hand made (knitted, crocheted, quilted, flannel, and fleece). She was very appreciative of the blankets. The blankets were collected from above chapter members, other Good Sam (some from Ohio) chapters and from friends and relatives who wanted to help also.
This will be a continuing project for 2008, so anyone interested in participating please contact Faye Parker, 256-931-2992 or e-mail
